THE WEEKEND
There aren't many festivals where the backdrop is a 400-foot gorge. Cheddar is our adventure weekend — one day of rugby on the Sunday, with caves, climbs and gorge walks either side.
The festival runs out of our Mendip basecamp, so the whole tour lives together: teams around the firepits, coaches comparing notes, kids running between lodges until someone finally calls time.
It's the festival coaches pick when they want the weekend to feel like a proper tour — compact, loud and completely unforgettable.

THE FORMAT
HOW THE RUGBY
WORKS
Cheddar is a one-day festival: all of the rugby is played on Sunday 25 April.
Up to Under 11 the rugby is non-competitive, with medals for every player — it's all about playing rugby and enjoying it.
The older age groups play a series of matches against clubs of a similar standard through the day.

THE PARTY LIVES AT THE PARK
STAY & PLAY
The rugby is only half the weekend. The whole tour stays together on park — and once the boots come off, the evenings take over: fancy dress, karaoke, live entertainment and a dance floor full of teammates and parents. It's the part of the festival nobody plans for and nobody forgets.
